Mario J. Florio
, of Brockton, passed away at home at the age of 90 on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. He was the husband of Averil M. Florio.
Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Enrico Florio and Josephine (Licursi) Florio. Mario attended Brockton Schools.
He worked for the City of Brockton for many years. He was a bus driver for the City of Brockton until he retired. Mario trained and owned Race Horses for many years. He also enjoyed working on cars which was his passion. He was an avid Boston sports fan.
In addition to his devoted wife, Averil; he is survived by his three loving daughters, Nancy Holick and her husband Tim of Raynham, Cynthia Di Tusa and her husband Joseph of Plainville, and Deborah Florio of Raynham; his brother, Albert Florio of Winthrop; his granddaughters, Julie Carpenter, Michele Setterlund, Melissa Rocha and Gina Holick; great grandfather of Jack and Jay Carpenter; Mario is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Michael, Theodore, Alfred, Frank, Joseph, Edward Florio and Fannie Celia.

Funeral service in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday, April 26th at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Sunday 2:00-5:00PM.
