Marion R. Lupica
, 94, of Brewster and formerly of Brockton, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Marion has lived in Brewster since 1975.
Born February 2, 1915 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lupica and Louise (Canora) Lupica. A graduate of Brockton High School in 1933 and Bridgewater State College in 1937 with a Master Degree in Education.
Miss Lupica taught in Kingston and Brockton for forty years, the last 20 years as a teacher in the Fourth Grade Gifted Class.
She served on the State Commission for the Academically Talented for five years, as the only elementary teacher on an 11-member board.
She is also the author of Teacher's Manuals in Reading for Grade 3 and 4, published by J.B. Lippencott.
Miss Lupica traveled extensively in Europe and Costa Rica; several trips across the United States and into Canada.
A member of Our Lady of the Cape Church in West Brewster and she was an active member of the Ladies Guild. She served as Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Conception Church in Brewster.
She was a volunteer at the Brewster Manor Nursing Home and Retiring Home, and at Our Lady of the Cape Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her siblings, Emily Merra of Brockton, Geraldine Condon of Brockton, Virginia MacDonald of Brockton, George Lupica of Brockton; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Capifferi, Catherine Markella, Josephine Kelley, Rose Lupica, Dominic Lupica, Peter Lupica, Nicholas Lupica, William Lupica, and Guido Lupica.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Saturday at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:00AM. Interment will be private. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Friday, January 1st from 3:00-5:00PM.
