Obituary

Marjorie E. (Prescod) Alder, 86 years, of Brockton, died Sunday morning at her home. She was born and raised in Barbados, West Indies, daughter of the late Norman and Edith (Burrows) Prescod. She had been a resident of Brockton for the past 30 years, and had been employed by the Christian Science Church on Massachusetts Avenue in Boston for 12 years. She was also a member of the Christian Science Church.

Mrs. Alder enjoyed music, playing her violin, dressmaking, crocheting, knitting, gardening, cooking and her pets.

She is survived by one daughter Adaliah Foster of Brockton, and one son Clyde E. Alder MBE, JP of the United Kingdom, four grandchildren, (3 of the United Kingdom and 1 of Canada), and five great grandchildren, (3 of the United Kingdom and 2 of Canada).
She was the wife of the late Clyde H. Alder

A Funeral Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton Wednesday at 11am, with visitation 10-11am prior to the service. Burial will be in Coweeset Cemetery, Brockton.
