Mark Vincent Gomes, 50 years old, passed on January 18, 2016 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
He was born June 3, 1965 in Brockton, MA, the son of Louis Vincent Gomes and Priscilla (Duarte) Gomes.
He attended Brockton High School and began a long career in Culinary Arts. Mark worked at various well known restaurants in Brockton, MA then moved onto New York City where he continued his skills at Madison Square Garden, BICE and Filliponte Restaurants. He returned to Massachusetts and was the chef at Joe Angelos Caf, then onto Miami, FL to work at the Four Seasons Hotel. He was transferred back to Boston for the Four Seasons. Ultimately he ended up back in his home town of Brockton, MA returning to Joe Angelos Caf then onto Harrys Bar and Grille, Westgate.
Mark is survived by his parents Louis Vincent Gomes of Falmouth, MA and Priscilla (Duarte) Gomes, of Brockton, MA, sisters, Cindi Gomes who resides in Union City, NJ, Valerie Gomes of Atlanta, GA, Stacy Gomes of Lancaster, MA, brother, Timmy Gomes of Miami, FL and nephew, Elijah Tyler Andrade of Atlanta, GA. Mark is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and hundreds of friends.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 at 10:00AM in the Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton, MA 02301. Interment will follow in Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Calling hours Sunday in the funeral home from 3:00 to 7:00PM.
