Mark A.
Jose
May 13, 1963 – November 22, 2024
Mark Anthony Jose, 61, of Assonet, passed away at home on Friday, November 22, 2024, after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of 36 years to Kelly A. (Silvia) Jose, and the adoring father of Kaylin A. Jose.
A graduate of Apponequet Regional High School Class of 1981, he owned and operated Phoenix Energy with his brother, Robert, for the last 28 years.
Mark served the Town of Freetown for a combined 44 years of service. He was a call firefighter/EMT for 15 years and the Harbor Master for 35 years; positions he held with honor and pride.
Mark had a passion for cooking, and loved to share with others. He was known as a clambake aficionado. Mark enjoyed weekend road trips, antiquing, and was always up for new adventures.
Most of all, Mark enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his enormous heart, quick wit, humor, and willingness to help anyone and everyone.
Besides his wife and daughter, Mark leaves behind his parents, Arnold & Susan (Moniz) Jose, brothers James & Robert (Lori Jose), as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
While our hearts mourn this loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering.
