Martin "Diego" Franco of Brockton, MA passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2022.

Diego is survived by his loving partner of over 45 years, Abigail Rosario and his loving children, Martin F. Rosario and Maria Elena Susino. He is also survived by his adoring step children, Jose Rodriguez, Maria Quiros, Manuel Rodriguez, and Ana Rodriguez. Diego leaves behind his brothers and sisters, Juanita Melendez, Cirilo Melendez, Matilde Melendez, Cruz Margarita Melendez, Hernan Alberto Melendez, Abercio Melendez, Juanita Rivera, Haydee Santiago and German Santiago, along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dozens of friends. Diego was predeceased by his brother's Erasmo Melendez, Jose D. Melendez, his sister Gladys Melendez and step children Rosa Adorno and Carlos Rodriguez.

Diego worked many years in security and was incredibly proud of his accomplishments. So much so that there was even a wall in the living room dedicated to Diego. He was an avid fan of westerns and game shows, spending many mornings in his favorite chair watching tv. He was also a dog track enthusiast, spending many days "en los perros". Above all else, Diego was a devoted partner, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He loved his family and it was rare to not find him in front of a grill cooking and asking "what's happening" or "how are you tomorrow" with a big smile on his face. Diego will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Sunday, October 2nd from 4:00PM-7:00PM.  Funeral Service in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Monday, October 3rd at a time to be announced.  Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
