Bailey of Bridgewater formerly of Brockton, November 17, 2003, Mary Irene (Sands) Bailey, 81 years. Wife of the late William J. Bailey. Beloved mother of Patricia Bailey of Monponsett; Eileen Bailey of No. Easton and William Bailey of Bridgewater also Keith Gironda of Bridgewater whom she loved like a grandson.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5-8 pm. Donations in her memory may be made to the America Cancer Society, 1115 W. Chestnut St.,#301, Brockton,MA 02301.

Obituary

Irene died Monday at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Newton and Delia (Burke) Sands. Irene raised her family in Brockton and had been a Brockton resident until she moved to Bridgewater to live with her son 11 years ago.

She loved to read and she loved animals especially her beloved dog Gulliver. Her favorite pastime was to go out to eat at Friendlys. Survived by two daughters, Patricia Bailey of Monponsett; Eileen Bailey of No. Easton and a son William Bailey of Bridgewater also Keith Gironda of Bridgewater whom she loved like a grandson. and many nieces and nephews.
