Obituary

Mary Ellen (McDermott) Cordeiro, age 78, of Brockton, died peacefully at her home January 18, 2021. She was the wife for 40 years of George Cordeiro. Born and raised in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Alice (Fenton) McDermott. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Providence, RI. For 49 years Mary Ellen was employed at Raytheon Company, retiring as a Contract Specialist.

Mary Ellen was the sister of Thomas McDermott and his wife Elizabeth of Raynham, Alice Gunn and her husband John of Swansea, Kathleen Clifford and her husband William of Raynham, Margaret de Jesus and her husband Hector of Plymouth and the late Ann McDermott. She is also survived by George’s children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

At Mary Ellen’s request, all services will be private.
