Obituary

Mary A. (Stapleton) Darragh, age 82, of Canton, formerly of Brockton, died January 28, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Walter E. Darragh, Sr. Born in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Priscilla (Gidney) Stapleton, Sr. Mary was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of St. Josephs Academy, class of 1947. For 40 years she had been employed as an Accounts Payable Clerk for a local Brockton business. Mary enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and crocheting.

Mary was the loving mother of Cheryl A. Urban and her husband Robert of East Bridgewater, Diane Darragh and her fiance Brian Pereira of Fall River and Walter E. Darragh, Jr. and his wife Sarah of Bar Harbor, Maine. She was the grandmother of Kimberly, Kevin, Kirsten and Taylor; great grandmother of Haylie and Caleb all of East Bridgewater; and sister of Donald Stapleton of Canton, and Eleanor Jaeke of Lakewood, CO. She also leaves her lifelong best friend Trudie McLaughlin of Brockton.

Private family services were held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, Brockton, followed by her burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery.
