On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, Mary Rose Hursey passed to the lord. She was 97 years of age. She was the daughter of Catherine and Vito Gulla and had three siblings, Teresa, Elena, and Dominic. Mary was a graduate of the class of 1943 at Brockton High School. Mary was married to George Hursey for seventy-three years until Georges's passing three years ago. It was a World War II love story as they met while George was still in the Military in 1944. They married two years later and spent their entire lives living in Brockton, raising their two children Dennis and Maria, and had one grandchild Joeseph Tarr, a Veteran and former military officer.

Mary was a devoted Catholic and practiced and followed her faith devotedly. Mary worked for years in the restaurant business as both a waitress and hostess. Her and George had many wonderful lifetime experiences together traveling and with friends. Mary had a love for animals especially dogs and cats and has left her two cats Jack and J.J in her children's hands.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 4th from 2:00-5:00 PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM.

The family would like to thank the nurses of good Samaritan Hospital, for the caring and kindness they gave Mary in her last days. Instead of Flowers, the family request donations be made in Mary's name to the Disabled American Veterans Association.
