Obituary

Mary McCarthy, 90 years, of Brockton died at her home Friday June 4, 2010. She was born in Brockton and remained a lifelong resident. She was the daughter of the late Timothy and Ellen (Dineen) McCarthy. Mary was a graduate of Brockton High School and attended the former Boston Business School. She worked for many years at the Welfare Office in Brockton, and ultimately retired from the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare. Her interests included buying clothes, hats and traveling worldwide with her sisters. Prior to its closing she had been a lifelong communicant of St. Margaret Church.

Sister of the late Catherine Powderly and Eileen, Margaret and Timothy McCarthy. She leaves many special friends.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8am followed by a Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 4-7pm.
