Obituary

Mary P. (Gothage) Mucci, age, 92, of Brockton, died July 23, 2015 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. Born and raised in Brockton, Mary was the daughter of the late Dominic and Maria (DeIuliis) Gattaceca. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1940. Mary retired in 1989 as Head Clerk from the City of Brockton Tax Collectors Office, where she had worked for 22 years. She was an active member of the Brockton Council on Aging, and had been a Board member for many years. She was a longtime resident of Earle Street and communicant of St. Patrick Church. Mary was an avid Mahjong player and enjoyed cooking Italian food, entertaining her family and friends, and most recently bird watching.
She is survived by a son Ronald Mucci of Tiverton, RI and daughter Paula Samos of Jamestown, RI; three grandchildren, Ronald Mucci, Jr. of Bloomingburg, NY; Meredith Mucci and her husband Guy Compagnone of Waltham and Nicholas Samos of West Greenwich, RI and four great grandchildren. Mary was the sister of the late Jane Folino, Rose Nardelli, Samuel, John and Bernard Gothage.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton on Thursday 9:00am – 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Please consider donations in Mary’s name to St. Patrick Church, 335 Main Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
