Obituary

Mary E. (Cerci) O’Brien, age 96 of Middleboro, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully on June 26, 2023 at Care One at Randolph Nursing Facility. Mary was the loving wife of the late Walter I. O’Brien. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton High School.

For many years Mary worked for New England Telephone Company and retired as a Supervisor. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family as well as decorate. There was always a family member asking her advice on decorating their home.

Mary is survived by her children James O’Brien and his wife Phyllis of Bridgewater, Nancy Cree and her husband John of California, Beth Huot and her husband Dan of Middleboro, Donna Gonatas of Wareham, John O’Brien of Florida and Mary Miller and her husband Mark of West Bridgewater. Mary is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private family services will be held followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery.
