Obituary

Mary C. (Paiva) Reed, age 85, of Beverly, formerly of Brockton, died peacefully October 22, 2014. Mary was the wife of the late John W. Reed, Jr. Born, raised and educated in East Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Mary (Machado) Paiva. Mary received her degree in Labor Management from University of Massachusetts, Boston, and for many years had been active in and President of her union, ILGWU. She enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as dancing, sewing, and crafts.
Mary is survived by three granddaughters Michelle Reed and Shannon Bromm, Megan Heath; two great grandchildren Bailey Reed and Aidan Bromm and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by eight brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday 10-11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street, Ste B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
