Obituary

Mary Ann (Fucillo) Smith, age 76, of Brockton, died May 6, 2016 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital.  Mary Ann was the wife for 57 years of Joseph W. Smith and daughter of William and Eunice (Gabree) Fucillo.  Raised and educated in Rockland, she was a graduate of Rockland High School. She had been employed at Fairfield and Ellis Insurance Company in Boston prior to becoming a stay-at-home mother.  Mary Ann was a 4th grade CCD teacher at St. Margaret’s Church and did volunteer work at the Gilmore School for several years.  She was also a volunteer three days a week for ten years at Brockton Hospital and was presented a special volunteer service award on November 13, 1979. Mary Ann was a devoted wife and mother and loved being home taking care of her family, home and cat Timmy.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Scott W. Smith of Brockton; sister Jean Gillis of Florida, nephew Andrew A. Gillis of Florida, and dear friend Sandy Caffrey of Brockton. She was the aunt of the late Virginia Gillis.
