Marylou J. Trojano, 77, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Linden Ponds in Hingham, MA after a long period of failing health.
Known to friends and family as ML, she was born in Brockton, MA on November 24, 1937 to the late Roosevelt and Irene Trojano. After graduating from Brockton High School in 1955, she attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, MA graduating in 1959 with a major in English. She was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Later ML moved to California and spent a year before receiving a Master's degree in drama from the University of California at Berkeley. Marylou taught English at both Avon and Brockton High Schools then moved to teach Speech and Drama at Milton High School. She also was active at WGBH Television where she was involved with the Julia Childs show. ML enjoyed travel, both domestic and foreign. She often traveled with friends from her sorority days including one memorable 12,000 mile trip around the USA. Later summers were spent with family and friends in Pocasset, MA.
Marylou lived for many years in the North End of Boston where she was an active community member. She was a devoted follower of the Boston theatrical scene especially The Lyric Stage Theater. Her love of the theater was put to good use when she served as a drama columnist for a North End newspaper.
ML is survived by her long time companion, George McGarry, her twin brother Attorney Malcolm Trojano and her sister Attorney Joanne Remy and husband, David Remy. She is also survived by nephews, Paul and Peter Trojano, nephew Paul Remy and niece, Pamela Remy as well as six great nieces and nephews, all of whom will never forget how much she loved them.
Funeral Information
A Memorial Mass will be held at Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 9:00AM. Interment will be private. Following the Memorial Mass the family invites everyone to Thorny Lea Golf Club, 159 Torrey St., Brockton, MA 02301.
