Matthew J. Higgins, 28, of Middleboro, died Wednesday, December 7, 2022 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

Born on August 24, 1994 in Plymouth, he was the son of James C. Higgins and Tabitha (McGrath) Higgins.

Matthew enjoyed playing corn hole, fishing, playing pool, video games, and golfing with Cam. He was an avid fan of the Patriots, Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics and he loved music. He loved his animals, and being the best Funcle ever, watching his nieces and nephews in sports, spending time with his family relaxing by the pool, spending time at the lake house, having bonfires and adventures with Cody and Schubie.

Matthew is survived by his mother Tabitha Higgins of Middleboro; his best friend and father James Higgins and Jeanette Moody of Middleboro; his brother and best friend Cody Marble and his children Mason and Aubrey; his sister Jaime Mackiewicz, her husband Daryl and their kids DJ, Matthias, Caidence and Isabelle; his sister Sara Millette; his brother Jeff Millette and his daughter Everly; his sister Sydney Millette and her fiancé Dylan Maini; his grandmother Nancy Higgins and late husband "Papa" Larry Higgins of Marietta, Ohio; his grandmother Dee and Wilfred Forcier of Middleboro; he is the godfather too Matthias and Mason. He is predeceased by his nana, the late Carol Reynolds Hynes of Ft. Myers Florida.

Following Cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 17 Main St., (Rt105) Lakeville on Saturday, December 17th from 12:00PM-4:00PM. Following services there will be a celebration of life at the Bridgewater Vets Club, 85 Cottage St., Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, please help the family with a donation
