Matthew "Gigi" Sergio Matthew "Gigi" Sergio , 77, of Brockton died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Donah (Calcagni) Sergio. Born January 7, 1930 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Luigi Sergio and Pasquelina (Lembo) Sergio. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He owned and operated Gigi's Pub in Brockton which was formerly known as the Ward 5 Club. He formerly owned and operated many other businesses in the local area. He also formerly promoted and managed several pro fighters in the local area. He was an avid sports fan. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and ITAM Vets. He is survived by his wife, Donah (Calcagni) Sergio of Bridgewater; his children, Gigi Marino of Bridgewater, Matthew J. Sergio of Abington, Anthony N. Sergio of Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Matthew Sergio, Lauren Sergio, Amanda Sergio, all of Abington, Michael Marino and Taylor Marino of Bridgewater; his stepchildren, Linda DeMule of Whitman, Dino and Dana Lupica, both of Plymouth; his siblings, Samuel Sergio of Bridgewater, Roger Sergio of Brockton, George "Dinny" Sergio of California, Richard Sergio of Falmouth, Mary Haney of Falmouth, Irene DeLalla of Abington; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Louis Sergio, Joseph Sergio, Michael Sergio, Angelina Rubicine. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St. (Rte 123), Brockton on Saturday, June 16th at 8:00AM thence to Christ The King Church, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM.
