Maureen Puffer

Maureen Puffer (Owens), age 86, of Brockton, passed away surrounded by her family on August 11, 2026. She was the wife of the late Richard W. Puffer.

Born and raised in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John F. and Matilda (Tilla) (Gioiosa) Owens.

She graduated from Brockton High School with the class of 1957. She spent several years raising her children before returning to the workforce as a waitress at the Four Hundred Club and The Pub.

Maureen was a kind and giving person who was devoted to her family and loved family gatherings. She was an excellent cook and was particularly proud of her sauce and meatballs.

She is survived by her daughter Jean Kelly (Puffer) and her husband Richard, her son Richard Puffer Jr., her daughter Patricia Smith (Puffer) and her husband David, her son Dana Puffer and his wife Lisa Puffer.

Lovingly referred to as Nani to her five grandsons Bryan Kelly and his wife Melissa, Patrick Kelly and his wife Amy, Richard Kelly and his fiancé Mallery, Christopher Smith, and Connor Smith and his wife Emily.

Maureen is also survived by her four great-grandchildren who she absolutely adored, Patrick Kelly, Cole Kelly, Nolan Kelly and Shae Kelly. Affectionally referred to as Grammi.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law Barbara Owens and Amy Lou Rice, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will held on Wednesday, August 19th at 10:30am at Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman St, Brockton. Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
