Melvin C. "Buster" Howell, Jr. Melvin C. "Buster" Howell, Jr. , 75, of Brockton died Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at the Brockton Hospital. Born January 8, 1932, he was the son of the late Melvin C. Howell, Sr. and Dorothy M. (Kersey) Howell. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School in 1950. He served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. He retired as a processor for R.H Austin Company of Brockton where he worked for over 30 years. He was an avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife, Rena (Watson) Howell of Brockton; his stepdaughter, Frances Pina and her husband Louis of Brockton; his siblings, Jean Marrow, Nancy Gurley, Franklin Howell, Hazel Brown, and Walter Howell; he is also survived by seven grandchildren,several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the stepfather of the late Robert Watson and brother of the late June Dias, Anita Howell, and Ralph Howell. Funeral Information Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, May 29th in the Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery. Calling hours will be held prior to service in the Messiah Baptist Church from 10:00AM-12:00PM.
