Michael Kevin Floyd, 62, of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2025, after courageously facing an extended illness.
Born February 1, 1963, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Michael grew up in Brockton, Massachusetts, surrounded by a large, nurturing family and guided by his Christian faith. He graduated from Brockton High School and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, then built a nearly 40-year healthcare career starting at Merck & Co. and culminating as Executive Director at Quest Diagnostics, where he led health equity initiatives serving underserved populations.
Michael met his wife Tami in 1994, and together they shared many years of partnership and adventure. Their blended family included Tami's daughter Kiara and their children, Malachi and Mikaela. His children were the center of his universe, and he was a most devoted champion. His generous spirit extended to nieces, nephews, and extended family whom he welcomed with open arms.
Michael forged meaningful connections wherever he went, beloved for his adventurous spirit, infectious humor, and remarkable knowledge. His favorites included lemon pound cake and ice cream (perfect ratio required), Sunday football while multitasking, any project or business venture, the outdoors, and staying connected with friends. Among his greatest passions was uniting family through genealogy research and reunions, reflecting his belief that shared heritage strengthens our bonds.
Michael is survived by his mother Janet McAllister; wife Tami Floyd; children Malachi, Mikaela, and Kiara; sisters Gloria and Michelle; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father Bill Dodson and sister Vivian.
