Obituary

Michael P. Murphy, age 61 of Brockton, died peacefully at his brother’s home on May 1, 2023. Born in Boston, Michael was the son of Barbara (Sweeney) (Murphy) Mirabito of Manvel, TX and the late Robert Murphy. He was raised and educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School and the Control Data Institute.

Michael was employed in the computer and food service industries as well as working at Knapp Shoe and Mail Computer Services Printing Company in West Bridgewater. He was an avid history buff and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to music, watching sports, camping and working on cars. For many years he volunteered for various local political parties.

In addition to his mother Barbara, Michael is survived by a sister Donna Venti of Manvel, TX and a brother John Murphy of Raynham. He was the uncle of Nicholas, Julianne, Olivia and Lisa and great uncle of eight great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, on Sunday, May 7 from 2-4pm, followed by a funeral Service at 4pm. Burial will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
