Michael J. Sheehy, 76, of West Bridgewater, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday December 4th, 2024, at his warehouse in West Bridgewater. He passed doing what he loved, working and making green.
Born in Ireland on May 16th, 1948, son of late Mary and Michael Sheehy Sr. second oldest of 5 siblings: Sean (d), Larry (d), Patrick, Betty and Margaret, all of County Limerick, Ireland. He immigrated to the United States in 1963; became a citizen in 1968 and met his beloved wife and raised his 3 wonderful daughters. Mike worked as a truck driver starting at Carolina Freight in Woburn. He was a proud member of the teamsters for 25 years. He then went on to open his own business. Mike was the heart of his family, and devoted his life to his family, friends and his work. He loved to travel with his family, listen to Elvis Presley, attend AA meetings and celebrate his group's milestones. He had to keep himself busy if not working on his pallets, by doing yardwork, stringing up Christmas lights and most of all helping others. Along with playing with his four-legged friend Seamus. He was a very active member in Brockton Sunday Morning AA group, recently receiving his 42-year sobriety pin.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, of 52 years, Margaret, and their children Mary Dykes and her husband Timothy, Michelle Morse and her partner Jim, Nora Pugh and her husband Chris, as well as his grandchildren whom he cherished Erin Morse, Caitlyn Morse and Jonathan Morse. Along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews.
Visitation will be held from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main Street, West Bridgewater, MA., on Wednesday, December 11th from 4 to 7 pm. His funeral service at the funeral home, will be held on Thursday, December 12th at 9 a.m. followed by his mass of Christian burial at St Ann Church, 103 North Main Street, West Bridgewater, MA at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, 483 North Main Street, West Bridgewater.
In leu of flowers, donations can be to American Heart Association or an animal shelter of your choosing.
