Michelle A. (Holmes) Young, 65 of Lakeville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Better known as Shellie, she was the beloved wife of Steve Young, and had been married for 18 years.

Born in Middleboro, daughter of Barbara (White) Holmes and the late Richard Holmes, she was a graduate of Middleboro High School, where she was on the Color Guard team. She worked for Stop & Shop, retiring after 36 years as Seafood Manager.

Shellie had a way of making everyone laugh with her unique sense of humor. She loved riding horses and spending time with her grandchildren.

Shellie is survived by her husband, daughter Jamie and her husband Tony Iavarone of Somerset, daughter Dena Connolly, and son Bruce Connolly both from Lakeville; two grandchildren, Angelina and Antonia; two sisters, Brenda and her husband Leo Pollack, Sandi and her husband Joe Deal, both of Connecticut; three brothers, Brian and his wife Emily Holmes, Kevin (Kevy) Holmes, both of Middleboro, Ken and his wife Mary Holmes of Florida; several nieces and nephews, Rebecca, Jenn-Jenn, Kendra, Ethan, Branden, Allyson.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 17 Main St., (Rt105) Lakeville on Saturday, November 11th from 9:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Funeral Home at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Titicut Parish Cemetery, North Middleboro.
