Miguel A. Santiago Mercado

Miguel A. Santiago Mercado, age 76, of Whitman, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Alliance Health at West Acres in Brockton. He was the husband of the late Carmen M. (Cuevas) Santiago.

Born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Jose Angel Santiago and Cruz Pilar Mercado.

Miguel owned and operated a bakery in Puerto Rico for many years. He also worked as a construction laborer for several years. Miguel was the patriarch of his family, was very generous and often helped others. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing baseball, dominoes, solitaire, and going swimming.

He is survived by his children, Idaliz Alicea, Jose Alicea, Carmen Pereira, and Miguel Santiago, Jr.; his siblings, Angel Santiago, Santo Santiago, and Maria Santiago; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, from 4-8pm, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123), Brockton.
