Mildred "Millie" Edith (Gaibl) Vella, 60, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, the day after her birthday. She was surrounded by her loving family. Over the past 2 years, she fought a courageous battle with cancer. Millie was the wife of Charles T. Vella, III for 32 years. Born on March 30, 1961 in Stoughton, she was the daughter of the late Robert Gaibl and Eleanor (Lewis) Gaibl. Raised in Stoughton, she graduated from Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in 1969. Millie was a dedicated and hard working individual. She worked for The Plant Group, Inc. for 20 years, working her way up to regional manager. Prior to that, she spent many years in food service with Brockton Public Schools. During her free time, Millie enjoyed quality time with her family, trips to the beach, vacations to the White Mountains, crafting with her daughter, and Friday night dates with the love of her life. A selfless, devoted, loving wife and mother, Millie was always there for her family. In addition to her husband, Millie is survived by her children, Melissa Vella, Charles Vella IV, Austin Vella and his fiancé Sydney Magliarditi. She is also survived by her siblings, Marjorie Young and her husband Bruce, Richard Gaibl and his wife Elise, and Martha Monsini and her husband Pio. She was the daughter in law of Charles Vella Jr. and his wife Mary, and Margaret Balcom and her husband Robert. She was the sister in law of Patricia Koski and her husband Michael, Michelle Matheson and her husband Mark, and Marygrace Condon and her husband Stephen. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews. Millie was also the sister of the late Ronald Gaibl and Robert Gaibl. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St. (Rt. 28), West Bridgewater on Tuesday, April 6th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral services and interment will be private.
