Mohanlal D. Boodram was born on October 10, 1939, in Point-a-Piere, Trinidad & Tobago to Bill Boodram and Baboonie Boodram (nee Gokool). As a young man, Mohan (or "Mo" as he was affectionately known as), emigrated from Trinidad to the United States in the late 1950s. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from the College of New York in the early 1960s and worked as a lab technician in the medical field for over 45 years. During his lifetime, his pursuit of opportunity brought him to New York City, Schenectady NY, and Revere MA, among other locations. Most of his career was spent in Brockton MA, where he retired in 2006.

In addition to his primary profession, he owned a bar in Albany, NY, owned apartments in Schenectady, NY and had part ownership of a thoroughbred racehorse in Ocala, FL. Mohan was passionate about the sport of horse racing and spent much of his spare time at the Saratoga Racecourse, betting on the ponies. He also enjoyed cooking west Indian dishes. In retirement, Mohan took time to enjoy some other interests, including gardening, playing cards, watching vintage Hindu movies and watching Westerns. Being a sociable man, a favorite past time was playing card games with friends at the local senior center. However, nothing was more important to Mohan than family. He regularly made time for those he loved, spending time, creating memories and consistently supporting. He also loved to talk about his life experiences, regularly adding his trademark sense of humor that made his stories entertaining. He had a deep devotion to his Hindu faith.

Mohan is survived by his wife Marilyn Healey, niece Vashti Nandlal (who provided support to him for the past 30 years), his daughter Devika Spears (husband Terence), son Ram Boodram (wife Barbara), son Frank Hurley (wife Kaaron), grandchildren Frankie Hurley, Frisard Hurley, David Boodram, Terence Spears Jr, Christian Spears, Alex Boodram, Cameron Spears, Chandera Spears, Tara Spears, Donica McBean and Tamarah Spears, cousin Sheila Nandlal, cousin Shirley Nandlal, nephew Rajesh Nandlal (wife Mala), niece Sandra Nandlal, sisters in law Lacey Boodram and Doekee Janki, nephew Mitra Boodram, niece Ena Jagarnauth (husband Premnauth), niece Bena Ali, nephew Ramchan Gayah, niece Veera Rampersad, niece Kamlawatie Boodram, grand-nephew Varun Bhan, niece Shanti Dhore', and many other family and extended family members.

Mohan is pre-deceased by his parents Bill and Baboonie Boodram, and his siblings Koomkeran Boodram, Noharam Boodram, Drupatee Gayah, Mahabal Boodram and Bramdeo Boodram, sister-in-law Babsie Boodram, nephew Ramcharan Gayah, and other family and extended family members.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this time of grief. Thank you.
