Moises Tavares Correia Gibau, 76, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the husband of Maria Fernandes Gibau.
Born October 15, 1935 in Cape Verde he was a son of the late Joao Gibau and Maria Helena Tavares Correia. He was raised and educated in Cape Verde. Moises worked as a machinist and later for Bridgewater State College. He enjoyed horseback riding in his younger years. He also liked walking and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Fernandes Gibau;
his children, John and Stephan Gibau of Brockton, Raymond Macedo Gibau of California, Maria Fortes of Brockton and Ilda Andrade of East Providence, R.I.; his sister, Maria Semedo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jose Silva, Alcinda Pinansky and Joaquina T. C. Gibau Camilo.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Monday, April 16, 2012 at 9:30AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours Sunday 4:00- 8:00PM.
