Nancy J. Chausse

Nancy Jean Chausse, 79 of Brockton, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026 with her loving family at her side. Born in Brockton on December 11, 1946, she was the youngest daughter of the late Frederick E. and Dora M. (Parker) Chausse.

After graduating from Brockton High School and attending Framingham State University, Nancy entered into service of God as a nun in the Dominicans Convent near Louisville, Kentucky. After leaving the convent in 1969, Nancy began her career in banking with Brockton Saving Bank and swiftly advanced from bank teller to the level of Vice President of Human Resources, a position she held through several mergers, up to her retirement in 2012 with Blues Hills Bank.

Nancy was an avid traveler, seeing just about every region of our country along with England, Hong Kong France, Scotland and Ireland. Her favorite destination was the Disney theme parks which she visited multiple times. Nancy was a huge sports fan of all of the Boston teams, particularly her Red Sox. Her talents included sewing, of which she would make her own business suits, painting and ceramics. Though the years, she was very devoted to her cats and dogs from her poodle Nicole, her shih tzu Tiffany, her rescued cat Kimba and chihuahua Lola.

Nancy is survived by her sister, Patricia A. (Chausse) Akesson of Brockton, her nephews and nieces Deborah Hathaway and Donna Gurney, both of Raynham, Eric Akesson and his wife Gina of Brockton, Mark Akesson and his wife Kelly of Westerly R.I., Dawn Vasapollo and her husband Chris of Brockton, Brian McCarthy and his wife Heather of Carver and several great nieces and nephews and her closest friend Ann Berman.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Conley Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at Conley Funeral Home of Wednesday May 6, 2026 at 9:00am with a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton at 10:30am. Nancy will be laid to rest along side her parents after mass at Calvary Cemetery in Brockton.
