IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nataliya V.
O'Connell
October 14, 2006 – August 2, 2025
Nataliya Virginia O'Connell, 18, of West Bridgewater, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025 after the result of injuries from a tragic motor vehicle accident.
Affectionately known as Tals, Tali, Tit, Oompa, and Tooty, she was born on October 14, 2006 in Brockton. She was the daughter of Nichole O'Connell and Jeffrey O'Connell. She grew up in West Bridgewater and was to be a graduate in the class of 2026.
Nataliya was beautiful, fierce and loved the "finer things in life". She loved adventures and trips; anything but staying in one place. She wanted to see the world, but more importantly, she wanted the world to see HER.
She was often misunderstood but she loved hard. Her heart was huge and anyone who really knew her knew she only wanted to be happy.
Nataliya was a "Momma's girl" her whole life and her mother was her biggest advocate, doing anything and everything to make her life easier.
She loved spending time with her friends, shopping and going to the beach. She loved getting take-out with Mattie almost every day even though her mom loved to cook! She was always on Marketplace or online shopping, and taking day trips with Matt to get new pieces of furniture or other things she just had to have. Her motto was definitely "live for today"!
Nataliya is survived by her mother Nichole O'Connell and her partner Jay Sexton of West Bridgewater; her father Jeffrey O'Connell of Halifax; her siblings Celena O'Connell of Atlanta, GA, Keira O'Connell, Aviana O'Connell, and Caeden O'Connell of West Bridgewater; her grandmother Christine Moreau of East Taunton; her grandmother Virginia O'Connell of Halifax; her grandparents Edgar and Julie DePina of Taunton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also survived by her loving boyfriend Matthew Murphy who would have given her the world if he could; as well as her beautiful kitten Pixie, who she loved so much.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul on Monday, August 11th at 10:00AM in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater. Private interment will follow. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Sunday from 1:00PM-5:00PM.
