IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nellie (Thomas)
Asack
November 16, 1925 – December 16, 2025
Nellie Asack passed away peacefully on December 16th, 2025, at her home in Brockton, at the age of 100. Born on November 16th, 1925, in Brockton, to Annie (Malik) and George Thomas, she was the fifth of nine children. After graduating from Brockton High School, she worked as a seamstress, specializing in bouclé children's clothing.
She married George Noel Asack in 1950 and together they had six children. Nellie was a proud parishioner and member of the women's sodality at St. Theresa Maronite Church for many years. She and George were avid travelers and were particularly fond of their trips to The Great Wall of China, Paris and Germany. They enjoyed winters in Ft. Lauderdale and summers with family and friends at New Silver Beach in North Falmouth.
She attributed her longevity to a positive mindset; she saw the good in life and seized every opportunity to enjoy it. She was an unintentional comedian, telling stories from her past with kindness but also with a brutal honesty that often caught everyone by surprise and left the room laughing, herself included.
She is predeceased by her Husband, the Honorable George Noel Asack, Sr., her son in law, Gary Smith and her sisters and brothers, all of whom she held closely to her heart. She is survived by her children, Joseph G. Asack and his partner, Joni, George N. Asack, Jr., and his wife, Mary Jane, Gary P. Asack and his wife, Catherine, David M. Asack and his wife, Paula, Donna J. Fortin and her husband, Ronald and Lisa N. Smith, her sister in law Sheila Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Nellie was adoringly known as "Sitty" to her eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Among everything else, her radiant, ever present smile and her Kibbe will be greatly missed.
