Paul, of Brockton, December 27, 2001, Nellie E. (Gillis) Paul, 92 years. Wife of the late Roland A. Paul and mother of R. David Paul of Edgartown and Suzanne J. O’Connor of Brockton. Mother of the late Lorraine E. Brides.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 9:30am. Funeral Mass in St. Margaret Church at 10:30am. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-6pm

Obituary Information

Mrs. Paul died Thursday at Falmouth Hospital after a period of failing health.

Born in Brockton she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Laura (Yeager) Gillis, she had been a resident for over 65 years. She had also resided for periods of time in Pembroke, Randolph and Dennis. She was a graduate of Brockton High School. Following her schooling she was employed at the George E. Keith Company. Later she was a cook at the former Moore Hospital and the Brockton Hospital where she was a Dietary Supervisor and St. Joseph’s Manor. She also had been employed at the former London Clothiers for several years as a stitcher. One of her outside activities was candlepin bowling. She was an avid reader and a book collector. She was a communicant of St. Margaret Church, and attended Mater Dei Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Paul. She is survived by her son R. David Paul of Edgartown and daughter Suzanne J. O’Connor of Brockton, 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, 3 sisters Carolyn M. Jones of Brockton, Catherine F. Butler of Conn and Laura Arena of Taunton. She was the mother of the late Lorraine E. Brides.
