IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nicholas
Giardina, Sr.
October 24, 1943 – May 27, 2024
Nicholas Giardina, Sr. died suddenly at home surrounded by his family on Memorial Day, May 27, 2024. Nick was born on October 24, 1943 to his father Salvatore and mother Mary of Boston, MA. Nick was married to Luanna (McWain) Giardina for 50 years until her untimely death on Halloween, October 31, 2020. Nick was an Army Veteran but he was best known for being a longtime truck driver for Airborne Express for over 30 years.
He is survived by his son Nicholas Giardina, Jr. and his fiance' Andrea, his son Joseph Giardina and his wife Nicole, and his step-daughter Sue Clinton. He will be remembered by his grandchildren Savannah, Nicholas, Nathan, Andrew, Angelina, Mia, Skye, Noey, Jordan and her husband Anthony, parents of Nick's great-grandchildren Leonardo, Phillippa, Giuseppe, and Rafaella. Nick is also survived by him and Luanna's "furry" children, Gizmo and Gigi.
Nicholas, Sr. was known by many names, but the one that fit him best was Papa. You would often find Nick deep in conversations with friends at the Norwell Athletic Club, visiting his son Joe, or scratching tickets in the living room recliner at Nick Jr's home. For someone so independent you would rarely find him alone. He was always driving around the grandchildren where ever they needed to go and scooping them up for where ever he needed to go. He would deliver coffees and donuts regularly whether you asked for them or not. You would see him hours at an event and be happy to see he made it because driving at his age was concerning to say the least.
No matter what was going on in the world or in his life he greeted everyone he saw with a smile and positive attitude. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and regardless if you thought it was funny or not, his laugh was to contagious not to join in. Nick was incredibly headstrong, which some may call stubborn, but he was such a driven and motivated role model to all. Although, being so strong Nick was incredibly sincere, kind, and generous to everyone who crossed his path. He was always sure to say I love you at the end of every conversation or phone call, and it's one of the many reasons he will be missed so dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, to be announced.
