Norman D. Millikan
, 73, of Bridgewater, died Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Theresa A. (Gilmetti) Millikan.
Born February 8, 1936 in Denver, Colorado he was the son of the late Alwin Millikan and Annabelle (Johnson) Millikan.
Mr. Millikan was a Nurse Assistant at the Brockton VA Medical Center for over 15 years and had previously worked for Eastern Edison Company as a Sales Person. He has been a Bridgewater resident for the last 20 years and had lived in Brockton for 25 years previously.
Mr. Millikan was awarded the Bronze Medal from the Humane Society of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for his bravery in saving a women's life that was attacked by a fox on July 19, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa A. (Gilmetti) Millikan; his sister, Bonnie Pedigo of CA; his sister-in-laws, Barbara Gilmetti, SCN of West Roxbury and Mary Forsberg of Brockton; his brother-in-law, Joseph Gilmetti of Brockton; his nieces, Christine and Teresa, his nephew, John.
Funeral Information
A private funeral service was held in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton followed by interment with Military Honors at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
