In Loving Memory of Olivio Rodrigues
November 15, 1929 – July 14, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Olivio Rodrigues, who peacefully departed this life on July 14, 2026, at the age of 96. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, and proud patriarch, Olivio leaves behind a legacy of love, sacrifice, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family.
Born on November 15, 1929, in Fogo, Cape Verde, Olivio later made Brockton, Massachusetts his home, where he spent many decades working tirelessly to provide for his family. He believed that family always came first, and his greatest accomplishment was the loving family he helped build. His strength, generosity, and determination touched everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clarice Rodrigues, on November 27, 2023, and by three of his children, Ivone Rodrigues, Elisangela Rodrigues, and Arlindo Duarte. He was also the last surviving sibling of a family of seven brothers and sisters, marking the end of a cherished generation.
Olivio leaves behind 17 loving children, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory and carry on the values he instilled.
Anyone who knew Olivio knew his favorite saying: “Ali ke mode,” meaning “That’s how it is.” Those words reflected the way he lived—with strength, humility, acceptance, and resilience through every joy and hardship.
Olivio’s life was a testament to perseverance, unconditional love, and selfless sacrifice. Though our hearts are saddened by his passing, we find comfort knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife, his children who preceded him in death, and his siblings. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so deeply and the countless lives he touched.
Rest peacefully, Olivio Rodrigues.
