Patricia Ann (Burkhead) Carifio, 73 of West Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her home. She was the wife of the late Lewis K. Carifio.
She is survived by her children, Patty Carifio of East Bridgewater, Michael L. Carifio of NH and Laura A. Clifford of West Bridgewater; her grandchildren, TJ Clifford and Hannah Clifford; her siblings, Linda Burkhead Price of Weymouth and Joseph Burkhead and his wife Jill of Plymouth; her brother-in-law, Joseph Carifio and his wife Janice of ME; she is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late William Burkhead.
Born May 26, 1945 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late William Burkhead and Marilyn E. (Fraser) Burkhead. After growing up in the Boston area, she moved to Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School, later attending Quincy Junior College.
Patricia worked in the Payroll Department for Shawmut Mill Company before retiring. She has been a West Bridgewater resident for 48 years.
Pat married her high school sweetheart on October 8, 1966. They were married for 43 years until his passing in 2009.
They raised 3 children together, in West Bridgewater. She treasured spending time with her 2 beautiful grandchildren who were her heart and joy.
Pat was an active attendee of Crossroads Worship Center in Weymouth. Her days were often spent cooking, shopping, and doing things for others. Known for her amazing cooking and baking she would make each holiday, birthday and celebrations special. She valued being in the company of her family and friends, many who often received an unexpected card or gift in the mail.
Pat also delighted in her yearly trips to Aruba, where she would enjoy the ocean, swimming and time with her friends.
Loved by many for her incredibly kind nature, she cared greatly for the happiness of others, she will be greatly missed by those she loved and those who loved her.
Following Cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., West Bridgewater on Friday, July 27th from 4:00-8:00PM. A celebration of her life will be held in the Crossroads Worship Center, 241 Broad St., Weymouth on Saturday at 11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
