Patricia A. (Bragdon) Doherty 81 years, of Brockton formerly of Centerville, died Sunday September 20, 2009 surrounded by her family at The Guardian Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the devoted wife for 50 years of the late Paul F. Doherty,Sr. Patricia was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Charles and Susan (Kelly) Bragdon, was a 1946 graduate of Brockton High School and had attended Chandler School of Business. In 1983 she retired with her husband to Centerville, Cape Cod and returned to Brockton after his death.
Pat had been the office manager for Dr. John Carrioulo in Brockton and a receptionist in a Brockton medical lab. She was a past member of the Brockton Women’s Club and a volunteer at the Centerville Library. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church in Centerville and attended St. Margaret Church when living in Brockton.
Pat loved ceramics, playing Scrabble and ten pin bowling. She will also be remembered as a champion for animal rights.
She is survived by her three sons James R. Doherty and his wife Tammie (Blair) of Falmouth; Stephen P. Doherty and his wife Pamela (Sartorelli) of Brockton and Paul F. Doherty, Jr. and his partner David Behnke of New York City and Washington, CT. She also leaves 5 grandchildren Jason and his wife Cassandra of Stoughton, Shaun of Falmouth, Colleen of South Boston, Daniel of Weymouth and Stephen, Jr. of Cambridge. She is survived by her brother-in-law William Doherty of Bloomfield, CT; five nieces and her former daughter-in-law Elaine (Flaherty) of Bridgewater.
