Online Obituaries Patricia A. (Thomas) Pitaro, 81, of East Bridgewater (formerly of Brockton), entered into rest on Sunday, August 13, 2017 after an illness of several months. She leaves her loving husband of 57 years, Carl D. Pitaro, former Mayor of the City of Brockton. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Clara L. (Johnson) Thomas. Her brothers and sisters predeceased her. They were Lorraine Thomas, John Thomas, Shirley (Thomas) Child, James Thomas Jr., and Wayne Thomas. Patricia is survived by many nieces, nephews and three sisters in law. Patricia graduated from Brockton Public Schools and Bridgewater State College. She was a teacher and psychometrist in the Brockton School system for her entire career. She was a member of the Alpha Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma where she held various offices. She enjoyed participating in the annual teachers musical revue, Potpourri, directed by her husband. Pat also enjoyed travelling extensively with her husband Carl for events in Rotary International. She was a member of a special group of friends who attended high school together. They kept in touch and travelled and met often. Pat joined the Big Sister/Little Sister program and never missed weekly visits and suppers with her little sister supporting her from age 6 to marriage and children of her own. Funeral Information A private family funeral service was held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home with interment in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
