Paul J. Carroll's Obituary

Paul J. Carroll of Middleboro, formerly of Weymouth and Quincy passed away August 8, 2023.

Born in Boston, he was raised in North Quincy and graduated from North Quincy High School and went on to serve in the United States Army, 25th Infantry Division, during the Vietnam Era. For his service Paul was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. For after being honorably discharged, he earned his Associates Degree from Bunker Hill Community College.

In his early working years Paul drove a truck for the post office and various companies, and later worked as a Custodian at the South Postal Annex for many years before retiring. He was an active member of the APWU where he served as the Union Stewart. He lived in Weymouth for many years where he was an active member and an Usher at the Immaculate Conception Church and a Cub Scout Leader and Pack Master of the Weymouth Boy Scouts. A proud Army Veteran, Paul started a Flag Company to make the Yellow Ribbon Flags for the Troops returning home from Operation Desert Storm. Paul had the gift of gab, and after his retirement he enjoyed attending his grandchildren's sporting events, taking vacations, and going out for a good meal.

Beloved husband of Dianne L. Carroll. Father of Stephanie A. Robinson and her husband Michael of E. Bridgewater and Sean M. Carroll and his wife Katie of Weymouth. Grandfather of Amanda and Justin Robinson and Conor Carroll. Brother of John Carroll of Weymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 17 Main St.(Rt. 105) Lakeville Tuesday August 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 575 Monponsett St. Halifax Wednesday morning August 16th at 11:00 am. Burial Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org .
