Paul H.Cavanaugh

Paul passed away peacefully in Brockton, Wednesday, January 15th after a brief but hard fought battle with cancer at the age of 72. Born to Florence and Jack Cavanaugh of Brockton, he spent his life in the City he was born. From growing up on Richmond Street to his days at The Track to spending his time golfing with friends at Thorny Lea and DW, he was a true City of Champions staple. Paul spent his life doing what he could to build up the City he called home, first in the construction industry and later owning an employment agency, working closely to put ANYONE in the community to work.

He lives on through his two children, whom he loved very much and spent all of his time, Billy Cavanaugh of Brockton and Kasey Cavanaugh of Portsmouth, NH. His loving sister Carol Nickerson of Kingston, his niece and nephews, Derek and Amy Harkins of Brockton and their two children, Kelly Harkins of Portsmouth, NH and Chris Harkins and his family of Whitman. He is predeceased by his Brother and lifelong best friend William Cavanaugh.

We would like to thank the amazing nursing team and staff at Brockton Hospital, from the ones that worked to save him to the ones who sat by his side, you were incredible in your support of both Paul and his family in this impossibly difficult time. This list of people who touched Paul throughout his life was endless and to all of you thank you as well.

Visiting hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., (Rt28) West Bridgewater on Thursday, January 23rd from 4:00PM-7:00PM. Private burial will follow in Beaver Cemetery, East Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, Paul would like you to go do something nice for someone today.
