Obituary

Paul B. Lombardo, 69, of Onset, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River after a valiant battle with dementia. He was the beloved husband of Linda M. (Picanzi) Lombardo of 32 years. Born May 4, 1951 in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Gloria B. (Murphy) Lombardo. He worked as a brakeman/ conductor at Penn Central Railroad. Paul later transitioned to HVAC and became a brother of Sheet Metal Local 17 Union working as Shop Forman at Cooling and Heating Specialists, Inc. in Newton. Paul retired at the age of 62 and enjoyed many years spending time with his loving and extensive family. The Lombardo family annual Fourth of July cookout was a favorite tradition for Paul. Paul also enjoyed traveling to Italy for his 25th wedding anniversary, sitting at the canal with his coffee and newspaper, New England sports, listening to music, and playing bocce at his father in law's court. He was also an avid reader. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his children, daughter Nicole Fountain and husband Alvin of Florida and son Paul B. Lombardo, Jr. of Florida; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers Bruce Lombardo of Sandwich and Eric Lombardo of Milford; brothers in law Michael Picanzi of Brockton and Joseph Picanzi of North Easton; sisters in law Laurie Lemieux of Norton, Susan Vieira of Middleboro, Sandra Chafe of Holbrook and Michelle Hassan of Brockton; as well as several loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul's name to the Alzheimer's Association at act.alz.org.
