Obituary

Paul J. McManus Paul J. McManus , 86, of Brockton, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. He was the husband of Mary M. (Bennett) McManus for 63 years. Born February 2, 1926 in Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas McManus and Grace (Melanphy) McManus. Raised in Boston he attended Boston Schools. Mr. McManus served in the United States Navy during World War II and was most proud of standing on deck of the USS Missouri as the Surrender of Japan marking the end of World War II was signed by General MacArthur and President Truman. Paul was a Tractor Trailer Driver working for the Teamsters Local #25 where he retired driving from Star Markets. He was an avid sportsman playing city league softball and golfing at D.W. Fields Golf Course. He was a member of the AMVETS and the DAV in Randolph and a member of the Club National. He is survived by his wife, Mary M. (Bennett) McManus of Brockton; his children, Maureen L. McKee of Hanson, Judith A. McManus of Plymouth, Paul J. McManus , Jr., and his wife Susan of Stoughton and Timothy M. McManus and his companion Susan Clancy of Hanover; his sister, Genevieve McDonald of Bridgewater; he is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Thomas McManus, Joseph McManus, Lorraine McManus, Grace Fitzpatrick and Theresa Mason. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton on Friday, February 10th at 8:00AM thence to Christ the King Parish (St. Coleman) 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Thursday 3:00-7:00PM.
