Paul was a kind man who lived in the present and will be sorely missed by his family and friends. Born January 10, 1941, the oldest of five children to George F. and Kathryn (Wells) Murphy. He was raised in the "good old days" of Brockton. He returned six months ago to his roots and lived happily at the Connemara Senior Living in Brockton. Paul lived in Matfield Woods in West Bridgewater for 15 years and immersed himself in community life and formed many lasting friendships. Paul graduated from Brockton High School Class of 1958. His enlistment also found him to be part of the Cuban Missile Crisis as an artillery watchman on the USS Blandy. He was formerly employed by Bourne's transportation for 15 years and spent another 15 years working for the LoJack Corporation. Paul's home was his castle whether at Matfield Woods or the Connemara Senior Living. He loved to read his daily newspapers and favorite book of the week. Paul was a wonderful cook and shared his finished products whenever possible. Gardening was another passion and he was still growing vegetables despite having limited space. He was an avid card player and so enjoyed is time playing at Matfield Woods and the Knights of Columbus. Paul was past president of the Matfield Woods Association. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Columbus of Abington. Paul is survived by his siblings, William Murphy of Harrisburg, PA, Richard Murphy of Tucson, AZ, George Murphy of Brockton and Kathryn J. Murphy of Falmouth. He also leaves his niece, Sally Feeney of East Bridgewater, nephew, Robert Murphy of Hyannis and great niece, Amanda Murphy of Boston and Rachel and Ryan Feeney of East Bridgewater.
