Paul J. Saba
, Founder of Saba's Jenney, Citgo Sunoco Station of Brockton with his father John B. Saba, Sr., of Clinton, Maine and formerly of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Eastern Maine Medical Center at the age of 81. He was the husband of the late Trenetta C. (Caldwell) Saba.
Born and raised in Brockton on April 22, 1929, he was the son of the late John B. Saba, Sr and Labbebe Assaff Yaghi Saba and stepmother Rose Wardi Saba.
After Paul's father retired he took his brother Peter as his partner, together they successfully operated their service station for 36 and a half years. Selling the business in 1983.
Paul went to work for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission, retiring from there after 19 and a half years under an early retirement program.
Paul was also Chairman of the Brockton Water Commission serving under three mayors, the honorable John E. Sullivan, Richard Wainwright, and David Crosby and he also served as a member of the Brockton Traffic Commission.
At age 15, Paul was a Golden Gloves winner, fighting under his brother Michaels name, as he was too young to fight. He was first president of the Ward 5 Residents Association, Brockton City Democratic Committee, member of the Committee to raise funds for St. Colman's School and Convent. He was very active at St. Colman's Church for many years, collecting at masses and ushering people. He served as an usher at the late Rocky Marciano's funeral. He was an avid fishing and hunter having his boat moored in Plymouth Harbor for many years. He and his wife who predeceased him had a combination summer home and hunting camp in Maine since 1978. They together put up a new home at the same location having lost their home in Brockton to eminent domain proceeding to build new school. Paul loved politics and worked and coordinated many campaigns. He also had a passion for gardening and his fruit trees.
He leaves two daughters, Paula A. Saba Daaboul of Brockton and Trenetta Lee Saba Pelletier of ME; his son, William E. Saba of Kingston; his son-in-law, Maurice Daaboul; his four grandchildren, Garrett Johnna, Ethan and Dean Pelletier and one great granddaughter; his two sisters, Evelyn Saba of Brockton and Carol Murray of Taunton; he is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins. He was the brother of the late John B. Saba, Jr., George, Frederick, Michael, Peter, and Phillip Saba.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, May 27th at 9:00AM followed by Services of the Divine Liturgy that will be celebrated in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Wednesday 4:00-8:00PM with Incense Service at 6:30PM.
