IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Paul J.
Salvador
August 28, 1946 – August 26, 2024
On August 26, 2024, Paul J. Salvador of Bridgewater lost his battle with liver cancer after years of fighting. A beloved father, family man, and pillar of the Bridgewater community, he will be greatly missed. Born in San Diego, CA, he was the son of (the late) Walter Salvador & Esther (Cruz) Salvador of Florida and Bridgewater. Growing up in Florida and Massachusetts, he graduated from Bridgewater where he became a lifelong resident. Soon after graduating, Paul went to work for John Hancock selling life insurance. The skills learned there inspired him to open an insurance agency "Salvador & Company Insurance Agency" with his brother (the late) Walter "Bill" Salvador in Bridgewater in 1979, proudly serving the local community until it closed in 2014. He also opened a mortgage brokerage during that time, as well running his own real estate agency that he continued to participate in until his recent passing.
Paul was a proud grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family. He also loved watching sports, especially his beloved Red Sox. He became an amateur umpire in his twenties, something he later rekindled with his son and grandsons in his later years. He also coached little league and youth football for many years in West Bridgewater and was one of the founding members of the West Bridgewater Youth Football Association in 1984, an organization that continues to mold young adults in teamwork and discipline to this day. Paul was also very proud of the commitment he made to Jesus Christ and was very open to pray with anyone who asked as well as study the Bible with.
Paul leaves behind his two sons Mark and Doug Salvador of Bridgewater, his sister Anne Hallisey (John) of Middleboro, his niece Christy Savoie (Kyle) of Brockton and his grandchildren, Stanley Dorosz of Middleboro and Mitchell, Olivia, Jacob and Lucas Salvador of Bridgewater. Visting hours are on Wednesday, September 18, from 4pm - 6pm, with a memorial service from 6 - 6:30 at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S Main St in West Bridgewater, followed by a memorial get-together at the Citizens Club, 60 Hale St, Bridgewater.
Sending flowers is always welcomed, or you may donate in Paul's name to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund for cancer research. For more info, please visit www.dana-farber.org
