Paul G. Spillane, Sr., 87, of West Bridgewater passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater.
Born on February 27, 1933 in Brockton, he was the son of the late John J. Spillane and Mary (Sullivan) Spillane. Paul was a graduate of Monsignor Coyle High School, class of 1951 and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Paul worked as a plumber and pipefitter. He was a proud lifetime member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 51 of Providence, Rhode Island.
Paul was most grateful for the love of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Paul Spillane and his wife Hopestill, Denise Diliddo and her husband Billy, Trisha Sergio and her husband Steve and Nancy Sergio and her husband Dennis; his grandchildren Nicole Shifman and her husband Bobby, Courtney Charron and her husband Paul, Kristina Barron and her husband Patrick, Jillian Lucchetti and her husband Dan, Jacqueline Welsh and her husband Jay, Nicholas Spillane and his wife Julie, Samuel Spillane, Caroline Meyer and her husband Maxx, Maxwell Sergio and Amanda Sergio; nine great-grandchildren; his twin brother John Spillane, III and his late wife Jay; his sister Marie Burt and her husband Stanley; his brother Kevin Spillane and his wife Sandra; and many nieces and nephews.
Paul was a cancer survivor and generously donated his body to Tufts Medical School for research.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater for their compassionate care and for helping Paul throughout this journey. There are no words that could adequately express their eternal gratitude.
Services will be held at a later date, at which time a burial will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
