Pedro Ayala, 82, of Brockton, passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Easton. He was the husband of Marta (Rodriguez) Ayala.
Pedro was born November 27, 1935 in Caguas, Puerto Rico where he was raised and educated. He was a son of the late Domingo Ayala and Francisca (Rios) Ayala. He moved from Puerto Rico to Philadelphia in 1960. He later moved to Boston where he met his wife Marta. In 1983 they moved to Brockton where they have resided since.
He enjoyed cowboy and western movies, especially John Wayne. Pedro enjoyed building bird houses and word find puzzles. Pedro was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He also enjoyed walking and cooking. Most of all Pedro enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Marta (Rodriguez) Ayala; his children, Luis F. Rodriguez and his wife Sandra, Pedro Ayala, Jr. and his wife Gladys, Jacqueline Ayala and Edwin Ayala and his wife Loida; his grandchildren, Eduardo, Jorge Luis, Geordalys, Darlene, Kathy, Sylvia, Samantha, Sophia and Angela; his great-grandchildren, Avah and Avianah; his siblings Antero Ayala, Rogelio Ayala, Evangelina Ayala and Magui Ayala. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio Ayala, Miguel Ayala and Ruben Ayala.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for the repose of Pedro's soul on Monday January 22, 2018 in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St., West Bridgewater on Monday from 9:00AM-11:00AM.
