Peggy A. Barros of Bridgewater, 77, passed away on July 16 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of 51 years of Arthur G. Barros.

Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of Robert Smart and Ruth (Willis) Smart. She attended Brockton Schools and graduated with the Class of 1964. Peggy worked for Papa Gino's in Bridgewater for 32 years as a trainer and mentored hundreds of young people, most in their first employment.

Peggy loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas. An inveterate gambler, she was happiest sitting at a 3-card poker table in the Tropicana with a drink in her hand and a stack of chips in front of her.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Arthur and her three children, Jason Barros of New Hampshire, David Smart of Arizona, and Lori Hoyt of Massachusetts. Also, four grandchildren, Courtney Smart, Kerry Smart, Jacob Hoyt and Savannah Hoyt as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was the sister of Paulette Sanford, Pauline Spencer, Phyllis Smart, Penny Smart, Pamela Sheehan, Patti Ciaramella, and the late Priscilla Smart, Robert Smart, and William Smart.

Visiting hours are Monday, July 22nd from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton. Afterwards, at 6:00 PM, all are invited to a Celebration of Life to be held at Freda's restaurant, 105 Copeland Street, West Bridgewater.
