Perry J. Sylvester, Jr., 81, of Brockton, passed away on Thursday,
September 26, 2019 at his home. He was the husband of Margaret C.
(King) Sylvester for fifty-five years.
Born in Boston on March 24, 1938, he was the son of the late Perry J.
Sylvester, Sr. and Josephine (Giardino) Sylvester. A graduate of
Boston Latin High School and Northeastern University, Perry also
served in the United States Army.
Perry was employed as an engineer in the semiconductor industry for
Unitrode/Microsemi Corporation in Watertown for over twenty-five
years. Prior to that, he worked on projects for NASA while employed by
the Smithsonian in Cambridge for twelve years. Throughout his life,
he prepared tax returns for friends and family and in retirement this
expanded into a business that he operated until his passing.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret C. (King) Sylvester; his
children, Perry J. Sylvester, III. of Brighton, Brian M. Sylvester and
his wife Lisa of Walpole and Tracey A. Smith and her husband James of
Pembroke; his grandchildren, Lauren, Nicole, Chloe, James and Sean;
and his brother, Stanley Sylvester of Westwood.
Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton, on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, from 1:00-3:30 PM, followed by a brief funeral service at 3:30 PM.
