Peter P. Doody Peter P. Doody , 66, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Alliance Health Care Center in Braintree. He was the husband of the late Barbara F. (Conlon) Doody and is the husband of Charlene (Murphy) (Nagle) Doody of Brockton. Born February 12, 1944 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Lawrence Doody and Mary Alice "Ma" (Prout) Doody. A lifelong Brockton resident, he graduated from the 1st class of Cardinal Spellman High School in 1962 where he played varsity football, baseball and ice hockey. Pete was elected into its Athletic Hall of Fame. He also was a former Junior Varsity and Freshman Football Coach. Peter served in many different roles at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company where he worked for over 38 years. He was a member of several officiating memberships, including the Eastern Mass Association International Football Organization (EMAIFO) where he also served as Treasurer, the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO), the Southern Massachusetts Umpires Association(SMUA) and the Brockton Midget Football League(BMFL). He coached in several sports and organization including the Downey Little and Senior Leagues, YMCA, St. Colman's Basketball League and other associations. He was most recently awarded the 2010 MIAA Football Official of the Year. He was a communicant of Christ The King Parish and was once a CCD Teacher there. He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Murphy)(Nagle) Doody of Brockton; his children, Scott Doody and his wife Lisa (Janowiec) Doody of Brockton, Gregg Doody of Medford, Judy Nagle of Marlborough and the late Jennifer Nagle; his grandchildren, Ashley and Brianna; his brother, James Doody of Bellingham; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The obituary notice that appeared in the Brockton Enterprise for Peter on Tuesday inadvertently left out Peter's first wife, the late Barbara F. (Conlon) Doody. We apologize for this mistake, it was not the family's omission. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, January 21st at 9:00AM thence to Christ the King Parish, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00AM.
